Alec Baldwin hasnt had the greatest luck when it comes to social media. He scathingly attacked a Daily Mail reporter over an article written about his wife supposedly tweeting through the funeral of James Gandolfini. Baldwin used homophobic terms to insult and attack the reporter before he eventually deleted his entire Twitter account. The tweets threatened violent retribution to the Daily Mails reporter for the article. This is an example of what happens when social media meltdowns occur on a large scale. Baldwin came off terribly due to this Twitter tirade, and is now longer on Twitter because of the self-inflicted damage. On a lesser note, the 30 Rock star tweeted his disdain for American Air as they would not allow him to play the addictive Words With Friends app during a flight. This was nowhere near as serious as physically threatening a reporter, but he seemed to expect special treatment for his celebrity status. Fans were not impressed by his superiority complex, and he further alienated his fans through his attempt to verbally attack and threaten the Daily Mail reporter.
