10 Stephen King Stories Begging For Sequels
7. The Colorado Kid
The Colorado Kid is actually the lesser of King's two Hardcase Crime books - Joyland is vastly superior - but it is a fair bit more open to a potential sequel. In this case, the story is done, but the characters could easily return. In fact, to some extent they already have - The Colorado Kid was spun off into the TV series Haven, which has run for five seasons on SyFy.
However, this adaptation is an extremely loose one - characters have changed, with new names, new professions, and so on. Vince Teague is one of the few who carried over, while James Cogan - the titular Colorado Kid himself - only began appearing in season three, and was absent in all of season four, returning again in the fifth season.
In short, the newspaper office in a small town that gets drawn into mysteries was a little more compelling than what Haven became, and it would be great if King returned to the offices of The Weekly Islander and gave its staff a new mystery to face.
