10 Technology 'Advances' That Actually Made Life More Annoying

1. Autocorrect

Finally number one, the infamous Autocorrect. Autocorrect was a wonderful idea originally. A piece of software which automatically fixes your spelling, and changes words to what they 'should' be.

However more often than not this software fails dramatically, creating awkward and crude texts by pure accident. A whole website is dedicated to it, as it has plagued thousands of us over the years. On phones it should really be an opt-in rather than an opt-out option when you first get your new shiny phone. How many times has a simple text asking where to meet your friends for lunch turned into something rude or embarrassing? Too many times. Computers and technology are constantly trying to improve our lives by predicting what we want to save time €“ but as you find with Autocorrect, phones will usually predict wrong. It is most certainly the first thing we turn off to avoid those embarrassing messages caused by a slip of the thumb. Autocorrect is probably the worst case of a company spending millions building a seemingly amazing product, only to have it dramatically fail upon its release to the general public. Autocorrect is, in my opinion, the most annoying, and the most unhelpful thing ever invented. If you have any ideas to what is the most annoyingly unhelpful technology in the world, let us know in the comments below.
