10 Terrible Role Models In Stephen King Books

2. Vic Trenton In Cujo

Biggest Crime Committed: Forgetting to fix his wife's car. The smallest mistakes have the biggest consequences, and Vic Trenton is the worst culprit for this. Vic's wife Donna has an affair, which they vaguely reconcile over before he goes off on some big work trip in order to save his advertising company. Before he leaves, it's mentioned that Donna's car is having a few problems, and needs to be seen to swiftly. But instead of helping his wife, Vic swans off, leaving her and small son Tad to try and sort the car out alone - which you'll know, if you're a fan of the book, is a decision that leads to the terrorising of Donna and her son by a massive rabid Saint Bernard and the miserable death of Tad after being in a hot sweaty car for too long. Lesson learned, always fix your car immediately if it breaks down, or else all hell is going to break loose. Oh, and lazy husbands and fathers are just the worst role models ever.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
