3. Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour On Your Plate During Your Meal?
Trip AdviserUnfortunately waitresses don't go around singing the Lonnie Donegan hit single from 1959 'Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour On The Bedpost Over Night'. We are disgusted when customers stick their chewing gum to the side of their plate, underneath their plate, or inside their glass. This is just gross. We don't particularly want to encounter your chewed gum when clearing your plates and we REALLY don't want to touch it. This also applies to napkins you have sneezed into or the rubbish you have emptied out of your pockets before you left. We are not bin men, we are waitresses. Please warn us before we pick up an empty plate and a long string of gum lingers between the table and the bottom - which we then have to pick off. Ask for a napkin, restaurants usually have hundreds.
