5. He Wasn't That Great Of A Military Leader

George Washington Resigns Edited 2 In 1755, way before he rose to prominence in the military, he accompanied the Braddock Expedition; an attempt by Britain to expand the British Imperial influence and drive back the French. The resulting battle humiliated the British Military as well as Washington. He lost more battles than he won, although the tremendous scale of his successful battles show he does deserve the legacy he enjoys in America.
