Guys, while it's lovely having a man whom your lady friend can rely on times of trouble, it's not always necessary to make it one hundred percent obvious that you're willing to fight anyone who lays his hand on your girlfriend. Acting macho is quite cringe-worthy, and an almost archaic image of man in the modern day where there are now so many other personality traits that are way more attractive. Obviously as females we like to know you're going to look after us; it's wonderful to have someone who we can count on when we're being hit on or approached by other males when we'd rather not be. But we're independent too: we can look out for ourselves sometimes, and don't need you strutting around like a puffed up peacock spouting about how many weights you can lift at the gym. Just shower us with affection: it's way more appealing.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
