Having kids isn't for everyone - it's as simple as that. So why do some parents have to keep on looking at those who are childless as though they're selfish and cold hearted? You might be physically able to have children, but that doesn't mean that you want that responsibility or even that lifestyle, and that's fair enough. Everyone is different and they're entitled to live the life that they choose, so if you're wanting a life without children, then why are parents trying to drag you down into the cult of the 'full time mummy and daddy' club? Some people are perfectly happy growing old with just their husband or wife and even though their life may be a lot quieter than those who do have children, it doesn't make their love any less special or their lives any less meaningful. It should be noted that it's devastating for those who aren't able to have children who desperately want them, but so is bringing a child into this world just for the sake of conforming to what society says is the 'right and normal' thing to do. For some people, 'right and normal' is a life without children, but that doesn't mean that they hate kids, they just don't want any of their own. So maybe stop asking them questions that they're sick of hearing?
10. People Look At You Like You Have Two Heads
"What do you mean you don't want kids? They'll bring your life purpose." "Your life will change when you have children." "But babies are so cute and they bring everyone such joy." As far as you're aware, your life already has purpose, whether you find that through your partner, your friends or your job, you're happy living life without any sprogs. So why are people looking at you like you're a monster with two heads? Unfortunately, you don't agree that 'babies are cute' is a good enough reason to procreate. Eventually they'll grow out of that cute stage and to be honest, the mother who always says that babies are beautiful are the ones who have spawned the ugliest kids imaginable. It's not nice admitting that some children fell from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, but it's also not nice to lie.
