10 Things We Learned From Bret Weinstein On The Joe Rogan Experience

You just never know who's going to pop up on the Joe Rogan Experience next.

One week the legendary UFC commentator is speaking to a Hollywood A-lister, the next he's shooting the breeze with an infectious disease expert. Truly, Rogan can hold a conversation with just about any living thing on this planet.

That much was apparent yet again when former Evergreen State College biology professor and regular JRE guest Bret Weinstein made a recent appearance on the show. Bret's brother Eric also recently sat down with Joe in April.

Weinstein isn't one to keep his opinions and views close to his chest - as you'd know if you've checked out his Dark Horse podcast - and throughout this three hour sit down chat he reveals what he believes is on the horizon for America, the dangers in turning on science and how he thinks the current global situation really came about...and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The Joe Rogan Experience is at its peak when the host is placed in front of an articulate guest who offers a unique perspective for Rogan to challenge and probe. That's exactly what we were treated to here, so buckled up and prepare to question more than a few things along the way.

In case you weren't aware, Bret Weinstein was famously branded as a racist for opposing a change to the 'Day of Absence' tradition at Evergreen college in 2017. This day would usually see minority students and faculty stay home voluntarily in order to stress their contributions to the university.

However, this was changed when the college announced that white individuals would instead be sent to an off-campus programme to learn about racist issues. The minority students would then stay on-campus. Eventually the students began to protest for changes in the college, with many opposing Weinstein's opinion and allegations of racism being at the forefront of their message. This eventually created what many perceived to be an unsafe environment and led to a catastrophic drop in enrolment to the college.

With protests evolving into riots in the wake of the recent Black Lives Matter movement, Weinstein and Rogan now believe that the events which seriously effected Evergreen are finally spilling out into the rest of the world.

Weinstein believes we are staring at many scenarios which will ultimately end in some kind of civil war. He does still think it's possible to avert that outcome but he doesn't know the force that gets in its way.

He also referenced how this is starting to feel like 'Occupied 2.0'. Weinstein describes Occupied as a complaint about the TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) programme which eventually morphed into an anarchist movement. He now feels this current situation is turning into the anarchist version of Occupied fusing with the Black Lives Matter movement.
