10 Things We Learned From Bret Weinstein On The Joe Rogan Experience

8. What He Thinks Of The Black Lives Matter Movement

Much of Bret's appearance on the show involved the Dark Horse podcast host focusing on the current Black Lives Matter movement, in particular why it started and what parts of the movement he is concerned about at this stage.

Weinstein is spooked by the fact that the movement seems 'leaderless' and he feels it's not correctly addressing the actual problem. Instead, he feels it's lashing out at things it can see and anecdotes.

He again went on to reiterate that the only way to save the republic is to find a solution which addresses the core problems of economic despair and crime-filled communities.

Rogans later talked about people being passionate and enthusiastic all over the world in their BLM protests. Yet, he felt it wasn't clear what their end goal was. He also claimed that if you pulled a lot of the people involved in the protests to one side and asked them what they were trying to achieve, they wouldn't know what to say.

Weinstein framed the situation as a zombified collective fighting a boogeyman they've invented, though he stressed that this doesn't mean their frustration isn't about something very real which needs a solution.

Clearly the pair feel as though the movement needs a clear direction and focal point in order to create any real necessary change.
