Despite being one of the most talented athletes in the history of vert skating, Tony admitted on the podcast that throughout his career skateboarding has essentially been his primary form of exercise and that he never lifted weights during his legendary career. Joe wondered whether being better conditioned would allow a skater to be able to sustain less damage when falling off, with Tony noting while his some of his contemporaries did, he was never a fan of the weight room.

Hawk even hilariously explained that his kids are fans of the JRE, and that they had anticipated Joe asking him why he has never done any strength and conditioning work. While he admits he isn't one to spend hours in the gym, Tony explained that he supplements his time on the board with surfing and regular swimming sessions in order to keep fit, with the latter being something his mother always attributed to her longevity.

The Birdman did seem open to Joe's suggestions though so who knows...
