10 Things You Didn’t Know About The London Underground

6. The Tube Challenge Sounds Insane

Two men who found out all about the distances between Tube stops are Steve Wilson and Andy James. At time of writing, they hold the record for completing the "Tube Challenge" in the shortest time.

The Challenge is quite simple - reach every single Tube station in the shortest time possible. Contestants don't have to ride every single line, as they can reach the stations on foot or by other forms of transport. They just have to get to them all.

The first recorded completion of The Challenge took place in 1960 and was even documented in the Guinness Book of World Records. Since then, the record has changed hands many times, including at one point being held by YouTuber Geoff Marshall.

It was also somehow held by an eight-year-old boy. Sure.

But it is Steve and Andy who currently hold the crown. On 21 May 2015, the two friends completed their circumnavigation of the Underground in 15 hours 45 minutes and 38 seconds, cutting the previous record by half an hour.

Whilst this is a huge achievement and the two men should be very proud, it's important to remember that two more stations have been added since their run.

Back on the train, lads.
