1. He Is Related To Gerard Way
When it comes to the different ends of the cultural spectrum of celebrity you'd be hard-pressed to find someone more divergent from the uber-masculine, martial arts training Rogan, than a gender-nonconforming vocalist of an emo rock band. Which makes it even more surprising, that despite their differences, Joe is actually related to Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance.
It turns out that Joe's grandmother is actually the great-aunt of Way, with Rogan and Way sharing the same pair of great-grandparents from New Jersey, making the pair second cousins. For those interested in finding out more, YouTuber GeneaVlogger did an excellent, if slightly terrifying, video documenting their family tree using only information in the public domain.
Rogan would later confirm that the pair were related on the JRE, in a podcast with Kevin Smith, but noted that while he would love to have Way on the show, they have never actually met.
