9. He Didn't Start Smoking Weed Until He Was 30
One of the most well-known aspects of Joe's public persona, and a frequent topic of his standup comedy, is his advocacy for the recreational use of marijuana. Joe has appeared in a number of documentaries over the years discussing his own history with the substance, and regularly stated his beliefs in its benefits for both creative and physical endeavours.
What is less known about Joe's relationship with cannabis is that he didn't actually start smoking until he was in his thirties. After having some bad experiences during his teenage years, Rogan had actually refrained from indulging and by his own estimation had only partaken around a dozen times prior to his thirtieth birthday.
That all changed when Rogan became friends with fellow BJJ enthusiast Eddie Bravo, who introduced Rogan to the idea of practising the grappling art while stoned, with the pair's mutual enjoyment of the experience bringing them closer together.
