10 Things You Didn't Know About Joe Rogan

3. NewsRadio Wasn't His TV Debut

Though he would later go on to greater fame thanks to his stint hosting the hugely popular relatively TV show Fear Factor, Rogan's first exposure to the mainstream was his role as Joe Garrelli in 90s sitcom NewsRadio, in a role he later explained was one of the rare occasions in his professional career where he had actually had to audition prior to being offered the job.

But NewsRadio wasn't Joe's first time in front of a camera. A fresh-faced Rogan had actually previously starred as the cocky baseball superstar Frank Valente in the 1994 Fox show Hardball, a sitcom surrounding the exploits of a dysfunctional team that was cancelled before final two episodes of the series had even made it to air.

Rogan would later explain that the show's script had been bastardised by a showrunner that had caused a rift between Joe and the higher-ups, and left the revised episodes doomed to fail.
