10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Pirates Of The Caribbean Ride

4. Changing Pirates

There are a number of different pirates you encounter as you pass through the ride, and while some are exactly as they were when it first opened - such as the chess playing pirate skeletons, who took so long to finish the game they died while doing it - a few have undergone changes to reflect the changing of the times and attitudes since 1967.

One example of this is the so-called 'Tired' or 'Pooped' Pirate, who was originally holding a petticoat and spouting some unpleasantness about the wench in the barrel behind him. Now his laziness is a result of all the food he's eaten, and it's difficult to tell which one is the real pig in the scene.

Another example includes the pirates chasing a group of ladies, who were once giggling. Now, the giggling has been removed, and the pirates are chasing the women for the foodstuffs in their hands, and not for anything more sinister.
