Arvids Blumentls' love for wrestling crocodiles and hunting other reptiles lead to Paul Hogan's famous role. Blumentls passed away in 2006 and there is a memorial dedicated to him in his birth place of Dundaga, Latvia; a large crocodile statue no less.
