In fact, conspiratorially speaking, it became a major plot device because right at the end Julia Ormond hacks all of hers off with a rusty pair of scissors then offs herself with a Smith & Wesson. The only plausible explanation as to why she did this was pure, hate-filled jealousy of Brads golden mane. Honestly though, his hair in this movie should have won awards.
