9. The Hopeless Romantic

When you meet the hopeless romantic they will remind you of How I Met Your Mother€™s Ted Mosby. Despite the fact that they met their partner in an inebriated state at a cheap SU night, they will attempt to romanticise their relationship. The room they met in would not be described as dark and dingy, but as atmospheric. By December they will be talking of renting a house together the following year, and you will gaze on in disbelief as you realise (before them) that they could potentially end up living with their ex partner. Many people do meet the love of their life at university, it is not that uncommon. However, the likelihood of finding your dream partner in Fresher€™s Week is pretty low, and falling head over heels in love with the first person you meet might not be a smart idea. In public their relationship may look perfect, but if you are unfortunate enough to live with one of them you may overhear thundering arguments and the bitter fall out of disputes that will be quickly swept under the rug and forgotten about. Alternatively, they will already have a partner from home and spend every waking minute on Skype, on the phone or texting them. Every weekend they will go home and spend time with this person. Again, this is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is a trait you will instantly recognise.
