10 Unexplained Deaths That Are Still A Mystery

7. The Circleville Writer

In 1976, certain residents of Circleville, Ohio were sent bizarre letters that revealed detailed information about their private lives. One local, a bus driver named Mary Gillespie, was accused of having an affair with a school official. Soon though, the Circleville writer took a violent turn. Around a year later, in 1977, Mary's husband Ron Gillespie was murdered. Police at the time declared his death an accident, but his death was later attributed as a murder by the mysterious writer. In 1983, Mary came across a deadly booby trap, and her brother-in-law, Paul Freshour, was accused of the crime and sent to prison. Freshour maintained his innocence, and was paroled after the strange letters continued to be sent around Circleville. Paul Freshour recently passed away, never learning the true identity of the Circleville writer.
