10 Unsolved Mysteries That May Have Finally Been Solved
3. The Bermuda Triangle
We're all familiar with this age-old mystery in popular culture.
The Bermuda Triangle is the place you never want to end up in the North Atlantic Ocean, where countless planes and ships have gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Oftentimes they are said to vanish without a trace with no wreckage ever being recovered, with Navy ships along with World War II planes being the victim of the Triangle.
Over 50 ships and 20 planes are said to have disappeared in the area, with in some cases even rescue missions also going missing when searching in the Bermuda Triangle. It has since become a staple of pop culture and the focus of several films and books. Theories range from the lost city of Atlantis, all the way to a time warp and a parallel universe.
However, the truth is much less scandalous. One of the reasons for the high number of incidents is simply that it is one of the busiest and most populated shipping areas in the world, leading to a naturally high number of incidents due to sheer volume of craft. The area is also a hurricane hotspot, which could easily explain away much of the anomalies.
