Walter White in Breaking Bad suggests Hydrofluoric acid as a good way of reducing an incriminating body into soup, but is this the best way?

Hydrofluoric acid is indeed extremely corrosive and very toxic, but it probably won't completely break a body down, and it would take a very long time to anything at all. It certainly won't reduce it do anything that can be poured down a storm drain.

Hydrochloric acid is a widely available and stronger alternative, but even this won't completely liquefy a body, plus it will stink while it does it, so unless you've got endless wasteland on all sides, the neighbours are gonna notice.

One of your best bets would actually be humble drain unblocker. Or, more specifically, the sodium hydroxide found in most drain unblockers.

Seeing as these cleaning products are designed to dissolve organic, specifically human, debris such as the hair and skin that gets washed down your plughole, in high enough concentration, it would make short work of the cadaver. All that would be left is a brittle "shell" of a skeleton that is easily ground up and cleared away.

Incidentally, the resulting bonemeal would make excellent plant food for your rose bed. Do with that information what you will.
