10 Weirdest Celebrity Lawsuits

4. Ron Livingston VS. Anonymous

You may have seen heterosexual actor Ron Livingston in Boardwalk Empire and The Conjuring. One day Ron was innocently €˜googlebating€™ when he noticed something strange about his Wikipedia page. Along with his name, his age, his profession and other general information, the page in front of him clearly reffered to him as €œa gay€. Outraged, Livingston filed a lawsuit claiming libel, privacy invasion, and unauthorised usage of his likeness. The problem with this lawsuit is Wikipedia is open to anyone to edit completely anonymously, meaning the chances of Livingston finding a culprit were highly unlikely. Also being called gay, whether you are or not, doesn't legally count as defamation, so the libel charge was pretty pointless and potentially a little homophobic. Get a sense of humour, Ron.
