11 Craziest Things About Living In Space
6. Readjusting To Normal Life Is Tricky
Astronauts undergo incredible amounts of rigorous training to prepare themselves for to totally alien environment of orbit, and by all accounts, it takes a while to adjust to life in space once you're up there.
But another probably that has been reported by a number of astronauts is the difficulty they have in readjusting back to life on earth once they return.
Of course, there are the psychological implications of having spent time in space, looking down on our planet from orbit (that's gotta give you a pretty weird sense of perspective), but there are also some more practical issues to contend with in the form of the sudden return to gravity.
Many former astronauts and cosmonauts who spent a long time in space say that they still sometimes forget about it and will simply let go of whatever they are holding in mid-air, only realising their mistake when it goes crashing to the floor and they're covered in boiling hot tea.
For this reason, re-entry is often referred to as a "second birth" as the astronauts get used to their limbs and surroundings once more.
