Joan Rivers is likely the most controversial comic to have carved out a career in the mainstream for such an impressive amount of time: over fifty years of show business. Thanks to her infamous amount of cosmetic surgery, jokes about just how old she actually is have been rife for decades, legends say that she may have been the foundation for the Helen Of Troy stories. So when news appeared telling us of her death in September 2011, our only surprise was that someone had finally located the Necronomicon required to destroy her. Details were scattered and suspicious regarding actual facts about her death, but she eventually gave an interview to the Huffington Post, where she feigned surprise, saying "I don't even know where this came from... I didn't even bomb on stage", classic Rivers humour indeed. Rivers then caught us all off guard, despite the fact that she has a reputation for the shocking, by claiming that "the story came from Betty White... that b*tch!", changed my mind, that's a bit closer to classic Rivers.
