10. Rereading TFIOS And Knowing You're DEFINITELY Going To Cry

If you haven't read The Fault In Our Stars, rest assured: you'll cry. If you have read The Fault In Our Stars, you know you're going to cry €“ which is arguably a whole lot worse.

Picking up TFIOS to reread is a struggle. The novel is fantastic; a nuanced, complex, hilarious account of Hazel Grace's relationship with cancer and the world at large, but it's also freakin' sad, too. Though the book does well to challenge the conventions of the so-called €œcancer story€, it also faces some harsh realities. Such an awesome book demands to be read multiples times, but damn if it doesn't get any easier...
