5. Cameron's Promised That He Would Reduce Immigration Into The UK From Outside The EU To Below 100,000 A Year... But It Was 292,000 In 2014
One of the Coalition's major failings has also given UKIP leader Nigel Farage added fuel for this election campaign - with Cameron's administration having been unable to even come close to meeting their immigration promises. Cameron pledged before the 2010 election that he would reduce non-EU immigration by more than 50% to below 100,000 - but he has simply failed to do this. In fact, in the year up to September 2014, not only had he not met this target, immigration into Britain from outside the EU had actually risen to 292,000 - almost three times Cameron's promised level. Farage (pictured above, front centre) has used this as a central theme of his own election campaign - while Cameron must wish the ground would open up and swallow the UKIP leader so he can't keep bringing this Tory failure up, again and again.
