13 Best Creepypastas The Internet Has To Offer

1. Footsteps

The most prolific of creepypastas due to its sheer lasting power over the years, Footsteps was originally posted by 1000Vultures on r/NoSleep, intended as a stand alone story. Little did he realise just how popular the tale of a childhood stalker would be however, resulting in a further five parts being added and eventually collating the entries into a novel: Penpal.

Collectively, the six parts focus around a man recalling his childhood, and the taint of a stalker that became obsessed with him over the years. A human fear and a realistic setting make the Penpal series an anomaly in the world of creepypasta - but all the more scary for it. There’s nothing quite like it out there, and it's up there with classics like The Story of Her Holding an Orange, though Penpal didn’t sell out on its audience by making its ending exclusive to paying fans. Still bitter.

Rumours of the story being transformed into a Hollywood release with producer Rich Middlemas have been floating around - but with five years already passed and not much to update with, it’s anyone’s guess on when it will be released. One thing is for sure - it’ll be worth the wait.
