13 Live Observations From The LEGO Factory & Museum Tour

9. LEGO Failed A Lot Before They Succeeded

Despite the enduring, international popularity of the LEGO brand, the Museum tour very much sets out a story of early disappointment from the days when Ole Kirk Christiansen started out making wooden toys with an agenda firmly set on high quality.

Perhaps partly because of his chosen materials his factory burned down a couple of times, with the company somehow managing to rebuild from the ground up. That it would become the biggest brand on the planet within just over 80 years is incredible.

In more recent times the company also struggled, being forced to tighten production to the core and reaffirming the values of their system. They don't currently even own LEGOLand as a result of that, but their recent success is further testament to the value of their doubling down on what they knew worked.
