4. An Aeroplane
No, we're not talking about a little toy plane that a toddler has shoved up his nose, we're talking about a proper, full-size aeroplane.
Michel Lotito was a French entertainer who made his living out of eating non-digestible objects (why anyone would pay to watch that is the real question, but never mind), earning himself the nickname Monsieur Mangetout (Mr. Eat-it-all).
Amongst his meals were 15 shopping carts, 18 bicycles, 7 televisions, 6 chandeliers, a computer, 2 beds, a pair of skis and a coffin. Oh, and an entire plane.
Over the course of two years at the end of the 70s, Lotito tucked in to an entire Cessna 150 aircraft. He cut it up into little pieces and washed it down with water and large quantities of mineral oil (something that is likewise not usually considered a delicacy).
Monsieur Mangetout claimed that he suffered no ill effects from his metallic meals and even said that he didn't even have any trouble, er, passing them either.
That said, he did die at the age of 57, so we probably can't consider his diet to be the elixir of life either.
