"What's so weird about finding fish in a person's body?" We hear you cry, "I eat fish all the time", you cry again, truculently.

Well, the fish in question weren't found in the boy's stomach.

A teenage boy in India was admitted to hospital after he started suffering from horrible abdominal pains and difficulty urinating. The doctors managed to identify something in his bladder and tried everything to get it out, eventually having to use a ureteroscope to take a look into the boy's bladder (ouch) where they were astonished to find a couple of dead fish

How they got up there is a bit of a mystery. The boy claims that he was cleaning out his fish tank when he went to the toilet, still holding the fish (you know, like normal), and it slipped from his grasp, wriggled up his urethra and into his bladder.

There have been a fair few stories before of a fish swimming up a urethra, but as far as we know, this case of it making it all the way to the bladder is unique. So unique, in fact, that it has been made a case study in order to immortalise this embarrassing moment forever.

The boy was, understandably, given psychiatric counselling.
