13 People You Meet On Halloween

3. Punny Costumes

See that person in the really weird, ambiguous costume? You should walk over to them and ask about it because they're dying to tell people how witty they are for coming up with such an original costume. A 'pun' is to make a joke by exploiting the different possible meanings of a word. Whilst these punny people aren't particularly impressive visually, they do get a little bit of credit for inventiveness and resourcefulness. In theory, it's the perfect kind of costume if you have a low budget and little time. Examples of conceptual word play costumes include "Iron Man" (someone literally cased inside an iron costume), Facebook (a person rather creatively writing "book" on their face) and "French Kiss" as above. These costumes are heavy on concept but light in costume, which in all honesty isn't much better than those lazy "Halloween costume" shirts.
