8. He Won't Sign Your Autograph Book
As any mega-fan who has approached King in the street will know, he will outright refuse to sign anything for you - whether autograph book, novel or left breast. Rumours have been flying since the year dot as to why this might be, from protection against identity theft to supernatural superstition, but all are way off the mark.
King has confirmed that he won't sign autographs (outside of official signing events) because he despises the USA's cult of celebrity and the fanaticism this inspires. Ironically, this has only led to the mythologising, spiralling and celebrity value of King's signature.
