13 Things You Should Never Say To A Stephen King Fan
4. 'Doesn't He Just Write About Miserable Writers?'
Lisey's Story, The Shining, Bag of Bones, Misery, The Dark Half... ok, I see where this is going. YES, there are a few writers mentioned in his novels. Most of whom are having a pretty rough time. But they all come out alright at the end! That feeling you get at the end of Misery where Paul Sheldon FINALLY escapes the clutches of Annie the kidnapping female maniac? It's great! And then he can go home and write all about his ordeal and make a whole bunch of money from his new best seller. It's a win-win scenario all round (bar the ongoing nightmares, of course...)
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
