13 Tie-In Toys That Look Nothing Like They Were Supposed To

12. Robin Williams - Hook

Robin Williams Hook To celebrate Peter Pan's return to the silver screen for Hook in 1991, Mattel released a toy line that included a number of cast members, including Captain Hook, Rufio and Peter Pan. While the action figures never sold remarkably well, the first and second toy lines have been sought after by collectors for many years, though not because of their authentic representation of the stars. For a '90s collectible figure, Peter Pan isn't grotesque, but there are no discernible features apparent that bear resemblance to Robin Williams, not to mention the fact that Pan didn't wear a Rambo style bandana in the movie.

11. MOK-KOS - Xenosaga

Xenosaga In 2004, Bandai Namco announced a Limited Edition set for Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose (Beyond Good and Evil), the special edition of which was packaged with the KOS-MOS figurine, a Tab-bike figure, two figurine stands and a booklet. Unfortunately for Bandai, KOS-MOS €“ an armoured gynoid and major character in the franchise €“ didn't look even half as elegant as fans may have hoped. Dubbed Jashin MOK-KOS by Japanese fans, the figurine is more beyond hope than beyond good and evil, that she's beyond all hope. Her once long and free-flowing, gorgeous blue hair has been dumped in favour of angel-winged bangs and spaghetti locks, plus her tacky armour looks good enough for the bargain bin at a car boot sale. And then there are those blood-shot, lifeless red eyes, set permanently to permanent shock, which don't exactly fit her majesty.
