4. Everyone Is Funny ALL THE TIME
Comedians are nice to be around, most of the time. But when being funny is your job and you're surrounded by lots of other people for whom being funny is their job, your job has a way of never ever ending.
Comedians make friends with other comedians, and go to parties of other comedians. This creates a bear pit situation, a friendly well-meaning bear pit situation.
It's hard for comics to turn off sometimes, and so many conversations can gradually devolve into a bunch of comedians performing their material for each other, constantly chasing laughter like a dog chasing its own tale.
Not every comedian is funny in real life. I'm certainly not that funny when I haven't carefully constructed every sentence I'm going to say for maximum effect, and when you're surrounded by funny people and not feeling particularly 'on form', this can be incredibly wearying.
