7. The Shopping Centre Feeling Like A City In Itself
Milton Keynes centre was built intentionally as a leisure, shopping and business district; and when you were little, you could wander the shopping centre for hours and feel like you were in Narnia and that the shops would continue in their lines into infinity. Being ten and wandering between the John Lewis end, the M and S end and the new bit was a bit like what you now imagine navigating Europe to feel like. But all in one day. And once youd lost which end youd just walked from, it was all too easy to find yourself completely disorientated and wondering if youd ever make it home alive.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
