No matter how well you think of something on the spot that is quick, witty and hilarious and although you've just executed the joke brilliantly, no one really laughs at it. That's probably because no one knows whether you're being serious or not since your face literally didn't change from grumpy. So either way you just look like you've annihilated someone with some extremely sarcastic and judgmental statement.
