The current favourite of the majority of sci-fi fans, and red-blooded men (and women) everywhere from the acting world is Olivia Wilde. She has a persona as being an intelligent, fun and sexy character, thanks to both her film/TV work as well as her interaction with fans on Twitter. Furthermore, she has a fairly rock and roll name, fitting nicely to the style of Joan Jett, but simultaneously making you think of Oscar Wilde: she's a woman with a plan in mind. Again, like Portman before her, Wilde tends to avoid the tabloid attention and seems to conduct herself with a lot more class than a great deal of her contemporaries, which provides a nice contrast between the name and the lifestyle. But then you have her real surname, which is undoubtedly one of the least attractive surnames you could wish upon any living person in the English speaking world. Olivia Wilde's real name is Olivia Cockburn. There are so, so many horrendous jokes that you could make about that. It's almost like the comments are all trying to get there at the same time, Three Stooging it through the same doorway. But we'll rise above all that, and just nod our heads in agreement that she made a wise decision in changing her name. Now stop giggling.
