"Joaquin Phoenix", now there's a name that stands out in Hollywood. Granted, it's a little pretentious, but as so much of the film industry is, I guess he had to both blend in and stand out at the same time. He comes from an acting family, with each sibling carrying an equally ridiculous name: Rain, Liberty, Summer (more acceptable) and the late River. But it's most definitely a good decision on behalf of the family as a whole to change their surname whilst in the media spotlight, because this is without doubt the most unashamedly immature, and therefore hilarious name I have heard given to a respected performer. Yes, the title reads correctly, Joaquin Phoenix's actual surname is Bottom. Joaquin Bottom. Say it fast and together and it sounds brilliant. Say it individually and it's no less funny. Address him in a formal manner, and you have Mr. Bottom. So many people would try and brush over this one and take the high road, I mean, it's only his name after all, but not this author. I am willing to stick my neck out and say that Joaquin Bottom is my favourite name that I've ever heard given to anyone ever. There's something about it that is not only hilariously uncool for a man who convinced us all he might be Johnny Cash, but it pleases the very immature part of your soul. Thanks, Mr. and Mrs. Bottom.
