15 WTF Corporate Tweets That Definitely Got Someone Fired
4. Chrysler's Strange Tweet About Detroit Traffic
Imagine going on your Twitter feed and instantly seeing an angry tweet about traffic that drops the F-bomb. You'd likely think this is just one of your friends with poor Twitter etiquette who thinks anyone wants to hear about their commute, but nope, this actually came from the official Chrysler account.
"I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to ****ing drive," the tweet reads. Chrysler immediately fired their social media firm, but it's still not entirely clear what happened. Did one of the employees mean to post this on their personal account, not realizing they were signed in to the Chrysler one? Or were they in such a state of anger that they thought this would be an appropriate thing for the entire Chrysler brand to say? Chrysler themselves said it was obviously the former, noting that they didn't demand the individual who sent it be let go since it was an honest mistake.
Remember: if you have access to more than one Twitter account, always triple check that you're on the right one before sending anything.
