15 Insanely Terrible Advertising Campaigns You Won't Believe Are Real

4. Malaysia Airlines Reminds You That You're Going To Die

After a company's name becomes associated with over 500 people losing their lives, they really have to be careful about how the subsequent marketing is handled. Malaysia Airlines was having a spectacularly awful year in 2014 following the disasters of MH17 and MH370, and this campaign certainly didn't help.

In September 2014, just six months after the disappearance of MH370, Malaysia Airlines launched the "My Ultimate Bucket List" contest, which involved asking contestants to submit a 500 word answer about things they'd like to check off their bucket list. How did absolutely nobody consider that calling to mind the idea of trying to do things before you die is not the best PR strategy for a company responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people? Even worse, contest winners would receive a free economy-class ticket on the Malaysia Airlines. Is this some sort of sick joke?
