15 Mind-Blowing Pictures Of Space
2. Pale Blue Dot

We get a spectacular view of Saturn's rings, gently reflecting the sun's light onto the planet's surface, and the glowing halo (called the E ring) a little way beyond that is made up of tiny frozen water droplets.
The truly amazing thing about this photo, however, is the miniscule pinprick of blue light just below the rings. This pale blue dot is the Earth seen from 898 million miles away, appearing as no more than a tiny spot of light in the black expanse of space.
Contained in that pale blue speck of light is our entire world, our home, with every single human that has ever lived or died on its surface. This is one of only a handful images of Earth taken from the outer solar system and gives us a good idea of the true size of the universe.
