Peter Pan is branded the hero when he's actually the main source danger to the majority of the characters. He deliberately antagonises grown men (who have access to actual weapons) because of his destructive nature and some wayward impudence. And not only does he see himself as a leader of the Lost Boys, he doesn't bring them happiness because he lives by the intolerably selfish concept that if he can't have any family, then neither can anyone else. This behaviour then seeps on to Wendy and Michael who he forces to stay in Neverland despite their pleas to return home. He puts everyone's lives in danger, including Wendy's who still seems to find him attractive for some reason. She is ganged up on by three mermaids, who Peter knows are dangerous, and out of jealousy, they try to drown her. When Peter asks the mermaids about the event, they innocently reply that they 'were only trying to drown her.'
