15 Surprising Hidden Meanings Behind Rude Words

6. Boob

What it means: An insult to all of your dim-witted friends, or a human breast (whether male or female). When to use it: When you've just told Dave what time to meet him and he wasn't listening because he was thinking about his lunch or something even more banal: "For the love of everything Dave, I just told you, you boob." Or a softer, more comical (and often more acceptable) term for funbags. Not to be used in serious or aggressive sex. Where it came from: In the 17th Century, the word 'bubby' was derived for 'puppa' which was Latin for 'little girl'.
