15 Thing Only Pizza Shop Employees Will Understand

3. The Driver Probably Didn't Make Your Food

If your driver shows up with an order that is slightly wrong, or just totally messed up, do not blame the kid who brought it to you. It's not their fault and they really do not give a damn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxRS6vJ9ak0 Most drivers don't cook. They just take the orders and deliver them to the address on the receipt. If your order is wrong, do not curse out the driver just because you didn't get your cheese bread sticks. Calmly explain what happened and you will have your correct order or a refund when they return.

2. Don't Complain About A Wrong Order And Then Eat All Of It

Speaking of wrong orders, if you call back and tell a pizzeria that you were delivered the wrong food, it will almost certainly be replaced. That doesn't mean it's OK for you to just chow down on the incorrect order. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7IireBsC3Q When the driver shows up with your correct order, you are going to have to hand over the wrong one. If you already ate it, or most of it, we won't take it back and you won't get your food. We all make mistakes, but that doesn't mean you are entitled to anything special. There's no such thing as a free lunch. Some places will tell you to keep the incorrect order because they cannot do anything with it, but do not assume that will be the case until you have the right food in your hands.

1. A Delivery Fee Is Not A Tip

Being a delivery driver is a pretty easy job, but it also gets you very low pay and absolutely no appreciation from customers, especially the more frugal ones. Most pizzerias include a delivery fee with your order, but this is in no way a tip. This fee goes toward paying the hourly wages of the delivery driver and other employees. It's up to you to determine how much a driver deserves for bringing you your food in a timely manner. Just make sure you tip well or you could find your next order takes quite a bit longer to arrive. These are just some of the things you will encounter working at a pizza parlor, but there are many more. Share your stories in the comment section below.
