15 Things Only People From Bedford Will Understand

5. The Pain Of Navigating Town When The Victorian Christmas Fair Was On

Bedford€™s Victorian Christmas Fair turns the town centre into an upheaval of fancy dressed people selling their wares, old people going about their annual town visit at the speed of about two miles an hour, harassed parents frantically shopping for turkeys in M&S, and gangs of school kids running wild because they've been allowed to go out with no supervision. With rides, stalls, fudge, lights, hot-dogs, music, costumed characters and Christmas trees galore, it€™s no wonder the town centre becomes a nightmare to get around during the festive period. Tip: if you€™re planning on heading out to do some Christmas shopping on the Saturday before Christmas, have an alarm set for 7am, a list of what you need and where to go, and don€™t park in Lidl car park because you€™ll inevitably receive a parking ticket for parking overtime.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
