12. Forcibly Leaving Your Emotions At The Door

This is very difficult to do, especially if you work in the public sector. People who have never worked in retail are the worst kind of customer: not only do they not understand that the cashier has no power to do anything and the fact that you're yelling and they're (possibly) on minimum wage really isn't going to make things better. And it's not just about those who work with the public being robots: open any stationary cupboard in any office building and you'll probably find a poor lost soul taking a few minutes every day to escape that damn cubicle and softly weep to themselves.
