15 Weird Christmas Foods You Hope You Won't See This Holiday
10. Jell-O Molds
The wiggly dessert reminiscent of Fred Dukes was introduced in 1897 and should have perished right there, but that sadly wasn't the case. Jell-O is made from the skins and bones of pigs and cows, however, due to its extensive processing, it is not considered a meat product, even though some vegetarians wont eat it. A favourite holiday item is the Jell-O mold or gelatine salad, wherein Jell-O is poured into a shaped container and then other foods, usually fruit and vegetables, are dropped into it as it hardens, creating a psychedelic salad in suspended animation. If youre really brave, you can add mayonnaise, cream cheese or pretzels. But please don't.
