Midwives will always recommend breastfeeding over formula because your baby receives nutrients and goodness from you that they cannot possibly get from artificial substitutes. It also helps to create a loving bond between mother and baby even though your nipples will hurt like nothing else. It may take time for the baby to learn how to latch on as they're doing something that they've never done before so just have some patience. You will also leak from your breasts every time you hear a baby cry because your natural, maternal instincts will kick in and you'll want to feed all babies that aren't even yours. Basically, breast pads are a must buy this season.
